SigAlert Issued After Portion Of Highway 74 Washes Away
The SigAlert was issued at 12:37 p.m. Monday just west of Cahuilla Way, west of Palm Desert.
IDYLLWILD, CA — A portion of eastbound state Route 74 in the mountains, between Southwest Riverside County and Palm Desert, closed Monday after a portion of the highway was cut away by excess water from Tropical Storm Hilary.
A SigAlert was issued at 12:37 p.m. just west of Cahuilla Way, west of Palm Desert. One-way traffic control was in place, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The closure adds to traffic problems in and out of the Coachella Valley on Monday.
