PALM SPRINGS, CA — The Palm Springs Air Museum on Saturday will conclude its "Snowtopia: Winter Wonderland" event, which features a snow playground, holiday characters and activities for kids.

The five days of festivities got underway Tuesday and will continue until Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day at the air museum. Tickets, which start at $12 per person, are available online or at the museum. Kids under 3 years old get in for free.

During the event, families can expect crafts-making, fire pits with s'mores, 60 tons of real snow and characters like Frosty the Snowman, elves and Mrs. Claus walking around to greet the kids, museum officials said. Santa Claus will be available in a separate section for a meet-and-greet with photos.

Additionally, Santa will fly over four hospitals in the Coachella Valley before he lands on the museum's tarmac, according to museum officials.

In previous years, the air museum held a drive-thru event -- due to the COVID-19 pandemic -- featuring lights and decorations, but now families are brought together in the museum for festivities, according to Palm Springs Air Museum spokeswoman Ann Greer.
