LA QUINTA, CA — Two road projects in La Quinta this week will prompt street and lane closures throughout the city.
The Indio Water Authority on Monday began work to install a water main line on Avenue 50, east of Jefferson Street. That work is expected to continue though mid-December.
Traffic control will allow one-lane open in each direction for the duration of the project.

Meanwhile, a full lane closure at the intersection on Highway 111 and Washington Street will be in effect all day Wednesday during the pavement rehabilitation improvement project.

The 24-hour closure will take place from 5 a.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday.
The project will involve construction crews grinding and paving the intersection.
City officials said businesses in the area will remain open and emergency services will have full access through the closure.
Residents were advised to use alternate routes, including Jefferson Street, Dune Palms Drive, Adams Street, Miles Avenue and Fred Waring Drive.
