Students At CSUSB Palm Desert Campus Marking Big Milestone

A two-day commencement takes place this weekend at Toyota Arena in Ontario. About 3,100 CSUSB students are graduating this year.

PALM DESERT, CA — More than 3,000 students, including graduates from Cal State San Bernardino's Palm Desert campus, will mark a major milestone this weekend during a two-day commencement at Toyota Arena in Ontario.

Officials announced Monday that the ceremonies will take place Friday and Saturday at the arena, located at 4000 E. Ontario Center Parkway. About 3,100 students from both the Palm Desert and San Bernardino campuses are expected to graduate.

Friday's events begin at 1:30 p.m. with graduates from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, followed by criminology, criminal justice and social work graduates at 6 p.m.

Saturday's ceremonies start at 9 a.m. with the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, and wrap up at 1:30 p.m. with a joint ceremony for the College of Natural Sciences, the College of Arts and Letters, and the Jams R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education.

Officials said CSUSB alumna and Inland Empire educator Mary Jane McCoy will be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters. CEO of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership and CSUSB alumnus Paul Granillo will receive the CSU Trustee-Nominated Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.
