Suspected Burglar Found Inside Palm Canyon Drive Business: Cops
Alarms rang out inside a Palm Springs business late Tuesday, and officers found one man inside.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — A 46-year-old Indio man remained in custody Thursday as the result of a Palm Springs burglary investigation.
Palm Springs Police Department officers received a report of a business establishment's alarm being activated in the 600 block of S. Palm Canyon Drive shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from the department.
The alarm company notified officers of an alleged forced entry into the property and a suspect visibly inside, officers said.

While surveying the area, officers found and arrested Duane Blunt after believing him to be the suspect, according to the statement. He was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance during the arrest.
Blunt was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on $50,000 bail on suspicion of second-degree burglary, probation violation and possession of a controlled substance, officers said.

Officers did not specify what exactly was taken or intended to be taken.
Inmate records indicate that Blunt is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
