Police said Morgan Levine, 68, of La Quinta, was arrested.

PALM DESERT, CA -- A woman suspected of driving under the influence crashed her car in an irrigation pipe in Palm Desert on Thursday. Police said Morgan Levine, 68, of La Quinta, apparently drove a red Mercedes Benz with a flat tire when she tried to make a U-turn before crashing.
A preliminary investigation determined Levine was driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Based on the circumstances of the traffic collision, witness statements, and her general condition, she was arrested. Levine was transported to a local hospital for treatment due to the collision. She was later released from custody with a citation, police said.
