Trash Truck Ignites In Indio, Spreads To More Vehicles: Firefighters
An early morning trash truck fire drew firefighters to this Indio neighborhood.

INDIO, CA — Two vehicles were destroyed Monday as firefighters quickly contained a fire to a trash truck that was fully engulfed in flames in Indio.
Fire crews responded at 7:20 a.m. Monday to a report of a vehicle fire in the 42000 block of Jackson Street, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
A trash truck was found on fire directly next to a building.

"Firefighters are working to contain the fire, which is off-gassing from fuel tanks," fire officials wrote in a statement. "The fire was contained to the trash truck at 8:07 a.m."
Due to flame impingement, two civilian vehicles in the area were also destroyed, according to fire officials.
