Two Seriously Injured In Two-Vehicle Valley Crash

Firefighters had to cut the victims free from the wreckage.

INDIO, CA — One person was airlifted to a hospital and another taken by ambulance, both suffering serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash Friday in Indio.

Firefighters responded about 2 a.m. to the intersection of Hoover Avenue and Monroe Street and worked to free both victims from the wreckage, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The crash also caused damage to a power pole and a repair team from the Imperial Irrigation District was requested, the fire department said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
