Vote Early In Palm Desert For June 2022 Election: Here's How

PALM DESERT, CA — Palm Desert area voters, get ready: early voting for the California Primary Election is open from now until Election Day on June 7.

According to Riverside Registrar of Voters Rebecca Spencer, voting opened Monday for registered voters across Riverside County.

Riverside County Primary Election Ballots should be arriving in your mailboxes starting Monday, and Ballot Drop-Boxes are open across Riverside County as of Tuesday, according to Spencer.

If you aren't registered to vote yet, there is still time. Prospective voters have until May 23 to verify they are registered to vote in their city. Call the Registrar of Voters at 951-486-7200 to ensure you are an active voter if you are not sure.

Important Dates For Riverside County Voters:

  • May 9: Ballot Arrival - check your mailbox!
  • May 10: Ballot Drop Off Locations Are Open - check for one near you.
  • May 23: Last Day To Register To Vote In Riverside County.
  • May 28-June 7: Vote early in-person at any of the 4-day 0r 11-day In-Person Vote Centers in Riverside County
  • June 7: Election Day - LAST DAY to vote in person or mail your ballot.

Once received, registered voters can cast their ballot through the mail or drop off their ballot at a Ballot Drop-Off location. If you prefer to wait until election day to cast your ballot at a county Vote Center, you may do so on June 7 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

How To Vote By Mail:

Those who wish to vote by mail can return their ballot to a ballot drop-off location or through the USPS. No postage is required. All must be delivered before the June 7 election day.

"Your ballot will also count if it is postmarked on or before Election day and received no later than seven days after Election Day," Spencer wrote to voters.

Track Your Ballot:

If you do vote by mail, be sure and track your ballot by registering at wheresmyballot.sos.ca.gov

Spencer encourages every eligible voter to cast a ballot in the election.
