Wildfire Chars More Than 3 Acres In Coachella Valley
Firefighters say the blaze has the potential to spread 10 acres.

COACHELLA, CA — Firefighters were working to quell a wildfire in Coachella Wednesday afternoon that had consumed at least three acres, authorities said.
The fire, reported at 3 p.m., sparked in the area of Highway 86 South and Airport Boulevard, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The blaze, moving with a moderate rate of speed, has the potential to spread through 10 acres, the department wrote on X. Additional resources have been requested for the incident, which has been dubbed the Airport fire.
