While camels are on exhibit at The Living Desert throughout the year, three additional camels join the pack as one of the zoo’s biggest attractions. These nomadic, legendary animals have a characteristic rocking gait (walk) unlike any other animal.

Camel rides are offered daily to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through April. Participants must be at least three years old to ride. The cost is $6 per person. Proceeds from the program go towards The Living Desert’s mission of desert conservation through preservation, education and appreciation.

“Camel rides offer a unique opportunity for guests to physically interact with one of our amazing animals,” said Allen Monroe, President & CEO of The Living Desert. “Money raised from this enhanced zoo experience supports our education and conservation efforts. In fact, every time someone visits The Living Desert, they help save endangered species.”

The Living Desert is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.LivingDesert.org or call (760) 346-5694.
