Woman Drowns In Palm Desert Pool

PALM DESERT, CA — A woman was found dead in a pool in Palm Desert on Thursday in the late afternoon, authorities said.

At 4:05 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department were sent to the 74000 block of Chicory Street, regarding an unresponsive "elderly female" seen in the pool.

The department told Patch that she was pronounced dead soon after deputies arrived.

An investigation is ongoing and no other details were released, the department said.
