Woman Killed by Vehicle in Desert Hot Springs
A 24-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while she was standing in the middle of a road in Desert Hot Springs.
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — A 24-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while she was standing in the middle of a road in Desert Hot Springs, authorities said Sunday.
The incident was reported at about 4 a.m. on Saturday at Indian Canyon Drive north of Mission Lakes Boulevard. The victim was identified as Sierra Forst of Desert Hot Springs.
According to police, Forst was in the northbound traffic lane of Indian Canyon Drive when the driver of green Chrysler saw her in the middle of the roadway and tried to make evasive maneuvers, but was unable to and struck her.

The driver pulled over and called 911, but Forst had suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the driver was a 41-year-old resident of Cathedral City and suffered minor injuries.
