2 Arrested In String Of Car Burglaries In Palo Alto
Eight cars were burglarized between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. last Thursday in local parking lots.
PALO ALTO, CA — Two Stockton residents were arrested last week on suspicion of a string of car burglaries in Palo Alto.
Azari Benjamin Mays, 22, and Treshawn Cortez Villegas, 21, were charged with felony counts of auto burglary and conspiracy.
Eight cars were burglarized between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. last Thursday in parking lots on El Camino Real, Sherman Avenue and Cambridge Avenue, according to the Palo Alto Police Department. In each of the thefts, items such as backpacks containing laptops were left in plain view inside the cars and the suspects broke the windows to take the items, according to police.

Police used the help of a location tracker on a stolen item by one of the victims to stop and arrest Mays and Villegas on Thursday night in Los Altos.
