2 East Palo Altans Win PG&E Scholarships
Three Bay Area High School Girls Awarded Opportunity to Attend Political Summit in Washington, D.C.

Leadership usually comes at a cost, but now that's something two girls from East Palo Alto won't have to worry about.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and Washington D.C.-based nonprofit Running Start announced Thursday that Getssiva Giselle Hernandez and Tatiana Wallace of East Palo Alto and Kelsey Wong of Fremont, would receive scholarships to attend Running Start’s Young Women’s Political Summit in Washington, D.C. July 12-14.
The summit—attended by 300 young women, ages 14-35—aims to help those who want to run for office, hone their leadership skills, strengthen their connections in the political world and learn how to make it to the next level in their careers.

The summit offer skills building in branding, social media, fundraising and campaigning. It also features nationally acclaimed speakers and highlights the work of partners working to empower women in politics.
This is the second time that PG&E collaborates with Running Start to offer these need-based scholarships to help more young women.
