5 Things to Do this Weekend: Stanford Commencement and Father's Day
Don't feel like driving far? Catch these events in Palo Alto this June 14 to June 16.

- The City of Palo Alto Library host the first of three "Brew University" seminars to introduce people to beer—how to distinguish flavors and find their perfect brew. At the downtown library from 270 Forest Ave., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: Free.
- Festivities are in the air as Stanford University celebrates its 2013 graduating class. Kick off the weekend with Dr. Robert Huw Morgan annual Commencement recital at Memorial Church on Friday, June 14 at 8 p.m. Cost: Free and open to the public. Donations for the church welcomed.
- Stop by the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center presents an outdoor performance of Herd of Cats, a jazzy Latin groove band, on Saturday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. Cost Free.
- Stanford University's 122nd Commencement celebration take place on Sunday, June 16 (Father's Day) in Stanford Stadium. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg give the Commencement address. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to last about three hours. Free and open to the public.
- After commencement and lunch on University Avenue, stop by World Music Day downtown from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. All performances are FREE and open to the public. The Fete de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, is a worldwide music festival that takes place around the summer solstice. For more information, please go to www.pamusicday.org.
