Accused East Palo Alto Drug Dealer Had Cocaine Base

An East Palo Alto resident was arrested after local and federal narcotic officers found "large amounts" of cocaine base within his home.

MENLO PARK - An East Palo Alto felon was arrested Monday after an array of local and federal narcotic officers found large amounts of cocaine base and a gun within his home.

Menlo Park Police say 41-year-old Lamar Johnson was arrested in the 2300 block of Clarke Avenue of East Palo Alto after a month-long investigation into alleged ongoing sales of cocaine base.

Police say they spotted Johnson and arrested him Monday morning moments after he left his Clarke Avenue residence in his vehicle.

A search warrant served on the home produced "large amounts" of cocaine base packaged for sales according to police, along with large amounts of prescription medications for sales, a loaded stolen firearm, ammunition, and cash.

Police say Johnson was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for possession for sales of controlled substances; being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm; possession of a firearm while possessing controlled substances; and possession of stolen property.

The Menlo Park Police Department’s Narcotic Enforcement Team (NET) was assisted in the investigation by the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force (NTF) and the FBI.
