Affordable Housing For Disabled Hot Topic Of Informal Talk

The Palo Alto Housing and Housing Choices group will host the session on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Mitchell Park Community Center.

PALO ALTO, CA -- An informal discussion about the hottest topic in the Silicon Valley is slated for 7 p.m. Nov. 15.

The purpose of the meeting at the Mitchell Park Community Center in Palo Alto revolves around educating the public on housing choices for the disabled.

"We are eager to help these very special members of our community and are grateful to partner with Housing Choices," Palo Alto Housing President Randy Tsuda said.

Tsuda cited research showing that adults with developmental disabilities function better thwne they are able to live in their own home "in their community near family friends."

Two new local affordable residential housing projects will be discussed. One project will come with at least 15 units in Palo Alto for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The other planned for Mountain View will offer some rental units targeted toward those with developmental disabilities.
