Armed Robbery Suspect Sought By Palo Alto Police

A man described as in his 20s pulled out a gun, demanding money. He fled on foot on Colorado Avenue.

PALO ALTO, CA — Police seek help finding a man who robbed the 7-Eleven in the midtown Palo Alto neighborhood, pulling out a gun, demanding money and fleeing on Wednesday morning.

He remains at large.

Dispatch received a call at 12:21 a.m. of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the convenience store located at 708 Colorado Avenue. Police conducted a search for the suspect with the assistance of a Mountain View Police Department canine, but he was not located.

The investigation reveals that a male employee in his 20s was mopping the floor when the male suspect walked into the store. The suspect showed the victim a semi-automatic handgun that was originally concealed under his clothing and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect stole the money and ran away eastbound on Colorado Avenue.

The victim described the suspect as standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a thin build. His race is unknown. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black pants, red shoes, purple gloves and a red bandana covering his face.

Detectives are actively investigating this case. They are looking into whether the suspect is connected to robberies in surrounding communities.
