Asian Box Brings Fine-Casual Street Food to San Jose

From Wagstaff Worldwide: WHAT: Palo Alto-based Asian Box opens its newest location in San Jose's Brokaw Plaza (1078 E Brokaw Road) on June 2nd. Throughout opening day, 100% of sales will be donated to long-time charitable partner, Wounded Warrior Project. Offering lunch and dinner daily, the gluten free menu is comprised of three easy steps: pick a base; pick a protein; add vegetables, “box toppers,” and housemade sauces. Guests create their own “boxes” by selecting a base (like rice, rice noodles or Asian salad), a protein (like Six Spice Chicken, Lemongrass Pork, Coconut Tofu), then topping it with a variety of ingredients like wok steamed or wok spiced vegetables, crispy shallots, fresh jalapeno, caramel eggs, and more. The menu also offers a variety of chef-curated boxes, including the Caramel Catfish with Passmore Ranch California Catfish and the Surf Vietnam Box, a tongue-in-cheek surf and turf. Asian Box also offers beer, wine, and craft soda options.

This Asian Box location will feature its new design and ambiance with art from Burlingame-based B+N Industries. The local designers use proprietary processes to specially produce unique panel artwork throughout the new design. The indoor and outdoor seating areas unveil sleek, repurposed materials in darker hues juxtaposed with pops of color to reflect the vibrancy and freshness of the food.

Since inception and as they continue to grow along the west coast, Asian Box has led the industry with its sustainable business practices. Asian Box uses 100% compostable consumer packaging and works with local farms to provide the highest quality organic ingredients. The team also continues to use reclaimed materials in their construction and use 30% less water and electricity than their competitors.
