Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation Of Palo Alto Jewish School

PALO ALTO, CA — A bomb threat prompted the evacuation Kehillah Jewish High School on Thursday afternoon, Palo Alto police said.
The threat was deemed to be without merit after a K-9 certified in explosive device detection determined there was not a bomb on campus, police said.
Officers at around 2:55 p.m. responded to the school at 3900 Fabian Way on the report from school administrators that it had just received a bomb by phone, police said.

School officials evacuated the school of approximately 250 students and staff, police said.
“Police responded immediately and cordoned off the school,” police said in a statement.

“Officers searched the campus with a canine certified in explosives detection and determined that no bomb existed.”
The threat is under investigation, police said.
The suspect is an unknown adult male, who called the school’s administrative office and made the threat, police said, noting that there have been no recent threats similar in nature.
