Burglary Of Occupied Palo Alto Home Under Investigation
Police said the victim, a woman in her 80s, had gone to bed around 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
PALO ALTO, CA — Police in Palo Alto are investigating an occupied residential burglary that occurred overnight Thursday.
On Thursday at 11:14 a.m., officers with the Palo Alto Police Department responded to the 2600 block of Cowper Street on a report of a burglary.
Police said the victim, a woman in her 80s, had gone to bed around 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

When the woman woke up around 8 a.m. on Thursday, she discovered her cellphone, tablet computer and purse had been stolen.
She told police she may have left her front door unlocked, though officers did locate pry marks on the front door.

A houseguest, a woman in her 20s, was also sleeping when the burglary occurred, police said.
