Caltrain will be giving free rides to people starting at 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, in an effort to encourage Bay Area residents to party responsibly.
Post New Year’s Eve-party travelers can also look forward to four extra trains that will leave after midnight from the San Francisco station. Usually trains stop running after midnight. The extra trains will depart at 12:45 a.m. 1:15 a.m., 1:45 a.m., and 2:15 a.m.
These after-hours trains will make all regular local stops.
