SANTA CLARA COUNTY - The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office is inviting high school students to participate in a contest that promotes an awareness of social media.

Students are being asked to design a poster warning about the dangers of social media, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

“Social media has revolutionized the way the world communicates,” District Attorney Jeff Rosen said in a statement. “But its not all hearts and LOLs. Predators and cyberbullies, text and email. You can get defrauded by a ‘friend’ on Facebook. Con artists use Craigslist. Let’s all use social media responsibly and watch out for each other.”
