Coroner Identifies Palo Alto Woman Struck, Killed On Charleston
An elderly pedestrian fatally struck Saturday night has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office.

PALO ALTO, CA — A woman who was hit and killed by a car in Palo Alto Saturday night has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as Yelena Fedorova, 87, of Palo Alto. Fedorova was trying to cross East Charleston Road in the 400 block at 8:39 p.m. when she was struck, police said after preliminary investigation.
She was not using a crosswalk, police said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fedorova was hit by a pickup truck driven by a woman in her 20s, officers said. The driver of the truck was not injured and stayed on scene to cooperate with investigators.

The Palo Alto Police Department does not think that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. The driver was not cited or arrested.
The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
