DUI Checkpoint Scheduled in East Palo Alto Friday Night
The local police department will stop drivers to check for impairment and unlicensed drivers at University Avenue and Bay Road.

Drunk, drugged and unlicensed drivers will not catch a break this weekend with increased law enforcement efforts
The East Palo Alto Police Department announced that it would conduct a checkpoint to apprehend drivers who violate both driving while under the influence and unlicensed driving laws this Friday, May 3 starting at 9:30 p.m. for several hours.
The sobriety and drivers license checkpoint will be located at University Avenue and Bay Road.

According to Officer Rock Stilwell, the DUI checkpoint supervisor, "the purpose of the checkpoint is to promote public safety; increase awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving and serve as a deterrent topotential impaired and unlicensed drivers."
The program was made possible with funds from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
