Facebook Aids Teen Abortion Prosecution: Report
Facebook is cooperating with law enforcement in the prosecution of a 17-year-old Nebraska girl.
MENLO PARK, CA — For what it’s worth, Sheryl Sandberg claims to be an ally of those who support reproductive rights.
The chief operating officer of Meta, Facebook’s parent company, in early May blasted the leaked draft reported by Politico of what would become Supreme Court’s June 24 ruling that overturned abortion rights.
“This is a scary day for women all across our country,” Sandberg said in a May 3 post.

Sandberg’s Menlo Park company is now at the center of a case that’s making national headlines, and her rhetoric doesn’t appear to match the social media giant’s business practices.

Facebook complied with a search warrant requested by prosecutors for private messages that will be used in the case against Celeste Burgess and her mother, 41-year-old Jessica Burgess, according to the report.
Celeste Burgess is being tried as an adult according to the report.
Prosecutors allege that Celeste and Jessica Burgess aborted, burned and buried the fetus, The Lincoln Journal-Star reports.
A 22-year-man pleaded guilty earlier this year to helping the two bury the fetus, the report said.
