Former Miami-Dade Executive Hired For Top Santa Clara County Role
The Florida native will serve in the newly created role of chief procurement officer for the county of Santa Clara.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Santa Clara County officials Wednesday appointed a Florida woman with senior management experience in public service to the newly created position of chief procurement officer. Santa Clara County's chief operating officer, Miguel Marquez, appointed Miriam Singer to be the first officer of her kind effective immediately, county officials said Wednesday morning.
Singer worked in a similar position in Miami-Dade County for six years prior to her relocation to Santa Clara County. Her new role is meant to provide oversight of county spending, county officials said.
Santa Clara County spends approximately $2 billion a year on goods and services. Singer will oversee efforts to make sure the county gets the best value and meets county objectives, county officials said.
