Hate Crime Probe After Pride Flag Ripped Down At Palo Alto Church
A Lutheran church reported vandalism to Palo Alto police last week.

PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto police are investigating an alleged hate crime following vandalism at a Lutheran church last week, police said Wednesday.
A church employee called police at 10:58 a.m. Tuesday to report that someone tore down a Pride flag that was mounted on the outside of the First Lutheran Church at 600 Homer Ave.
The vandalism occurred between May 7 and May 11, according to police. The offender allegedly tore down the flag and mounting bracket, damaging the exterior wall, and left them on the ground, police said.
Police said they have no suspect information. Police said this offense is not connected to alleged hate crimes from the past.
