PALO ALTO-Detroit is ready to muscle up to Silicon Valley.
Ford Motor Company’s Research and Innovation Center in Palo Alto will send fully autonomous Ford Fusion sedans on public roads in California in 2016, according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

Ford will be following Tesla and Google’s ongoing driverless car projects.
According to the Journal, the Palo Alto lab says it has cultivated relationships with UC Berkeley, Santa Clara and San Jose State during this and other research.
