Meet The Richest Person In California

Forbes identified the richest person in each state. They may not come as a surprise.

Forbes analyzed the fortunes of the country’s richest people to identify each state’s wealthiest person. This is the magazine’s fifth edition of the list.

California's richest resident is Mark Zuckerberg, the man behind Facebook, who is worth $71 billion, according to Forbes. In March's list of the country's billionaires, Zuckerberg ranked No. 8 — but at that point, Forbes said the tech mogul was only worth $63.2 billion.

The net worth of the individuals on the list varies. For example, Washington is home to the world’s two richest and most recognizable billionaires; Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, but in certain states, the richest people only had a nine-figure net worth, Forbes writes.
