PALO ALTO, CA—A new pet emergency room is set to open in Palo Alto, providing animal owners with a new way to access 24/7 care.

The Veterinary Emergency Group will cut the ribbon Wednesday morning at the new facility on El Camino Real in Palo Alto, celebrating its fourth Bay Area animal hospital after San Ramon, San Jose and Pleasant Hill.

According to the company, the veterinary emergency center will allow humans to stay with their pets through all stages of treatment, including conditions that require surgery and overnight stays. The new location is located less than three miles from Stanford University and will serve pet parents in Palo Alto and neighboring cities.

According to VEG, the facility is equipped to perform surgery and provide ultrasounds and x-rays, and those who reach out for help will be connected with a licensed veterinarian to get questions answered.

"When a pet parent walks into VEG Palo Alto, they will immediately feel they have finally found a place that will provide their family and pet the best emergency veterinary experience that exists," said David Bessler, the company's founder and CEO.
