No Free Ride To Park At Stanford Redwood City Starting Next Week

Parking permits will need to be issued come next week for those who commute to the Palo Alto university's Redwood City campus.

PALO ALTO, CA — The break is over for Stanford University's Redwood City satellite campus commuters for the bane of all who drive.

As a courtesy, the parking enforcement vendor was only issuing warnings the past few months. As thousands of employees moved to the Stanford Redwood City location, the parking warnings provided time for staffers and vendors to adjust to the parking permit process associated with their new commutes farther north from the Palo Alto university.

Now that the moves to the northern Peninsula campus are complete, Stanford is giving out a courtesy heads up that enforcement will begin on Sept. 3 for any vehicle without a valid permit.

About 2,250 employees are estimated to have moved to the satellite facility.

Those who haven't done so already are asked to complete the process through the online ordering system. For those with permits, Stanford unveiled five tips to avoid a parking citation. As an example, a license plate may be incorrectly entered.
