Palo Alto Armed Robbery At 7-Eleven In Midtown

A man wielding an alleged semi-automatic handgun robbed the 7-Eleven store in the Midtown neighborhood overnight, according to police.

PALO ALTO - A man wielding an alleged semi-automatic handgun robbed the 7-Eleven store in the Midtown neighborhood overnight, according to Palo Alto police.

Police say on Friday, June 17, at about 2:11 a.m., officers responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store at 708 Colorado Avenue after the clerk reported the store had just been robbed at gunpoint.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and instructed him to open the cash register.

After the clerk complied with the suspect’s demands, police say the robber took cash from the register, then ran out of the store headed eastbound on Colorado Avenue.

Palo Alto police say no one else was in the store at the time of the robbery, and the suspect is at large.

Police say the clerk described the suspect as an unknown race man, about six feet two inches tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a bright blue sweatshirt with a large black Nike emblem on the front, and the hood was tied down such that his face was not easily seen.

He had on blue jeans and white high-top shoes.

According to Palo Alto police, the clerk believes the suspect was armed with a dark-colored compact semiautomatic handgun.
