Palo Alto To Have New Garbage Service In 2022

The change will not impact garbage collection services in Palo Alto, according to the city.

PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto is getting a new garbage processing and disposal service in 2022.

Trash will be taken to GreenWaste Recovery for recycling and compost as the city’s contract with the Sunnyvale Materials Recovery and Transfer Station (SMaRT) ends at the end of the year.

The change will not impact garbage collection services in Palo Alto, according to the city. But it may affect services offered at the SMaRT Station like public self-haul, recycling drop-off, free compost and document shredding.
