Palo Alto Home Invasion Suspects Sought By Police

The suspects who remain at large allegedly kicked in the door of a woman in her 70s demanding jewelry and money before stealing her car.

PALO ALTO, CA — Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the midtown neighborhood of Palo Alto. The two suspects startled a senior when they entered her home and stole personal property, the police department reported.

The unidentified suspects remain at large.

The dispatch center received a 12:45 p.m. call of a home invasion robbery in the 900 block of Colorado Avenue. Police officers arrived and conducted a search of the neighborhood, but they did not locate the suspects.

The investigation revealed that two male suspects entered the residence by kicking in a side door to the home of a woman in her 70s, who was inside. The suspects demanded personal items including jewelry she was wearing and money. The suspects did not threaten her or display any weapons. After they stole her personal property, they went to the garage and stole her vehicle and fled with it. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Colorado Avenue.

The victim was unharmed.

She described both suspects as Hispanic, being between 17 to 19 years old, standing 5 foot, 7
inches tall with a thin build and short dark hair. The first suspect wore a black shirt and pants. The second suspect wore a light gray-hooded sweatshirt and faded red pants.

The victim’s stolen vehicle is a white, 2004 four-door Honda Civic with a California license plate of 5JUD666.

Detectives are actively investigating this case.
