Palo Alto Police Search For Street Robbery Suspects At Large

Two women were pushed to the ground and robbed Saturday on Kingsley Avenue by two men who jumped in a vehicle traveling on Waverley Street.

PALO ALTO, CA -- Police are searching for two men who allegedly pushed two women to the ground on Kingsley Avenue in an apparent street robbery that occurred Saturday afternoon.

Dispatchers received the call at 1:42 p.m. that the two men overtook the women -- a mother and daughter -- before taking off in a vehicle traveling southbound on Waverly Street. The mother's purse was stolen, and the duo suffered minor cuts, Palo Alto police said. It's unknown at this time of the stolen value.

The two women were walking westbound on Kingsley when they told detectives they heard someone yelling and the mother noticed a man running at her daughter who she tried to shield from harm. The suspect used his body to knock them down. It appears no weapons were involved.
