Palo Alto Residents Are Invited To Help Design City's Future Rail Corridor

The Palo Alto community is invited to attend a workshop to help design the city's Rail Corridor for the Future on Saturday, May 20.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- The City of Palo Alto is inviting community members to attend a workshop to help design the city's Rail Corridor for the Future, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20 at the Mitchell Park Community Center in the Palo Alto Room.

During the workshop, Palo Altans will have the have the opportunity to address long-standing challenges associated with four grade crossings on the Caltrain corridor which runs through our community.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is making $700 million available for grade crossing improvements in the region, and the City of Palo Alto has organized a rail program to develop plans for addressing traffic, safety and congestion issues near the city’s grade crossings.

At the workshop, participants will help define the challenges at each grade crossing and establish success parameters and evaluation criteria for the program.
