Palo Alto Teacher In Sexual Assault Case Was Also City Employee
More information surfaced about Peter Michael Colombo's background.

PALO ALTO, CA — A Palo Alto physical education teacher who was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of sexually assaulting a student two decades ago had previously also been a Palo Alto city employee.
Peter Michael Colombo, a 55-year-old Redwood City resident and teacher at Greene Middle School, was charged with felony aggravated sexual assault of a child on suspicion of sexually assaulting a sixth grader 20 years ago.
Along with his role at Green, Colombo worked in the city’s community services department as a part-time coach with the middle school athletic program between 2015 and 2019.

Colombo was assigned exclusively to Greene Middle School, which was formerly known as Jordan Middle School. He coached eighth graders on the boys basketball team.

Colombo was placed under administrative leave while detectives conducted the investigation.
