Palo Alto Construction Worker Killed In Fall

Police officers and personnel from the Palo Alto Fire Department responded to render medical aid to the worker, a man in his 40s.

PALO ALTO, CA — A construction worker died from injuries suffered in an on-site fall early Wednesday morning, Palo Alto police said.

The fatal fall was reported at around 12:35 a.m. Wednesday and occurred in the shaft inside the building at 525 University Ave. during overnight construction work, police said.

Officers and personnel from the Palo Alto Fire Department responded to render medical aid to the worker, a man in his 40s.

Paramedics from the Palo Alto Fire Department transported the man to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

“There is no evidence that any crime occurred,” police said in a statement.

“The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the circumstances of the death, as is standard in any industrial fatality.”
