SJ Man Arrested, Accused Of 2 Burglaries In Palo Alto: Police
The man is accused of breaking in and stealing car keys in an occupied Palo Alto home on Oregon Ave. at 6:10 a.m. Saturday.

PALO ALTO, CA — Police arrested a San Jose man on suspicion of burglary of an occupied home early Saturday morning.
The dispatch center received a 6:10 a.m. call of a residential burglary that had just occurred in the 600 block of Oregon Avenue, a home occupied by female victim in her 30s who woke up to the sound of her front door opening, she told police. She woke up her husband to alert him and both got up to investigate. The victim saw a man she did not recognize exiting her front door and noticed her car keys were missing, according to the report.
As officers arrived on scene, they saw a man walking eastbound on Oregon Expressway at Middlefield Road who fit the description of a male suspect who had fled from deputies with the Stanford University Department of Public Safety hours earlier. Officers detained him and found a set of car keys on the ground next to him. Through their investigation, police determined he was also the suspect responsible for the Palo Alto residential burglary, and the keys located next to the suspect belonged to the burglary victims, Palo Alto police officers surmised.
