PALO ALTO, CA — Nearly 50 patients at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford celebrated Easter last week by taking part in a scavenger hunt.
The event in the Dunlevie Garden for the patients and their parents, featured a path to find eggs hidden around the outdoor play area. Once the kids found the eggs, they exchanged them for prizes like LEGOS, bubble-blowing toys and other games.
“Our goal is to facilitate these activities and events so that our patients are able to celebrate the season as they usually would with their family and friends despite the fact that they’re currently in the hospital,” said Samantha Johnson, the health child life specialist at Stanford Children’s Health.
