16-Year-Old Girl Stabbed In Downtown Palo Alto: Police

PALO ALTO, CA — Police arrested a woman on suspicion of attempted murder in downtown Palo Alto on Wednesday morning after a 16-year-old girl was stabbed.

The incident occurred at University Avenue and Emerson Street, blocks from Stanford University.

The victim was conscious after suffering major injuries to her upper body. She spoke to officers and was transported by medics to a local hospital.

The suspect, 39-year-old Kenisha Monique Thomas of San Jose, was detained by two adult male Good Samaritans who tackled, disarmed and pinned her to the ground while other witnesses assisted the victim until police arrived, police said.
