'Always Supportive Of The Team': Palos Verdes Star Student Athlete

PALOS VERDES, CA — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

This submission comes from Jennifer Taggart who nominated Kylie of Palos Verdes. Kylie is Taggart's daughter who plays volleyball as well as participates in other extra-curricular activities all while juggling school work.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Kylie is a dedicated student with a heavy workload and has managed to maintain straight As while taking challenging classes, playing high school and club volleyball, and competing in VEX Robotics. Some days, she will go from a volleyball tournament to a VEX Robotics competition. Last year, she led her club volleyball team as Captain and led her VEX Robotics team as Manager. Her VEX Robotics team went to the VEX World Championship and placed 24th in the Innovate Division. At the same time, she was taking AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, and other challenging courses and maintained straight As.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

She is always supportive of the team.
