CIF-Southern Section Championship brackets are announced for boys and girls basketball. Panthers girls and PV girls and boys soccer will also play this week.

Peninsula girls soccer team will host Burroughs High School from Burbank for their first CIF playoff game 3 p.m. Feb. 17.
Palos Verdes girls and boys soccer teams will play this week at home. Lady Sea Kings play at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 and boys play at 3 p.m. Feb. 18. Opponents will be announced Wednesday.

A total of 371 boys basketball entries vie for championships in 12 single-elimination divisional playoffs, beginning Wednesday. The tournament will conclude with championship-final contests March 2-5 at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena and March 4-5 at the Merulo Athletic Center at Mater Dei High School.
There were 278 boys teams that qualified for the playoffs by finishing in the top half of their league standings. Another 93 teams qualified with at-large or freelance berths.
A total of 334 girls basketball entries vie for championships in 12 single-elimination divisional playoffs, beginning Saturday. The tournament will conclude with championship-final contests March 2-5 at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena and March 4-5 at the Meruelo Athletic Center at Mater Dei High School.
There were 254 girls teams that qualified for the playoffs by finishing in the top half of their league standings. Another 80 teams qualified with at-large or freelance berths.
- The Panthers boys team is ranked No. 1 in Division 2A and will host Troy High School at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
- Palos Verdes boys earned at-large berths in Division 4AA. They will play Estancia High School in Costa Mesa at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
- The PV girls also earned at-large entries in Division 3A. They will travel to Hesperia High School for a game at 7 p.m. Thursday.
- Panther girls team earned at-large berths in Division 3AA and will play against Rosemead High School, in their gym, at 7 p.m. Feb. Thursday.
