Deaths of Bicyclists Prompt Protest for More Safeguards for Riders

A Palos Verdes Estate man is leading a group-ride protest for what he called unsafe conditions on the peninsula.

Palos Verdes Estates, CA — A Palos Verdes Estates bicyclist is sick of what he claims are unsafe cycling conditions in the peninsula and is planning a protest, according to the Daily Breeze.

Michael Barraclough plans gather a group of cyclists to force the city to increase safeguards for riders. The protest came after two cyclists were killed in the peninsula, including a possible fatal hit-and-run in May.

The protest is planned for 4:50 p.m. Tuesday to coincide with the Palos Verdes Estates City Council meeting, according to the event's Facebook page.
