Human Remains Found On Shores Of Palos Verdes

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — Human remains washed ashore at Rat Beach in Palos Verdes Estates, law enforcement announced over the weekend.

On Saturday, a person at the beach discovered what they believed to be a human skull and a bone along the low-tide waterline and called the police at around 3 p.m. Officers investigating at the scene found additional bones.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner/Coroner assisted with the investigation and confirmed the bones were human. Both the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department and the Coroner's Office are working to identify the person.

No additional information about the possible, age or gender of the person was available. The date and cause of death are also unknown.
