New Pickleball Courts Open Up In Rancho Palos Verdes
Pickleball players in Rancho Palos Verdes are in luck as two new courts have opened up at the Ken Dyda Civic Center.
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Pickleball players in Rancho Palos Verdes are in luck as two new courts have opened up at the Ken Dyda Civic Center.
In response to the ever-growing popularity of the sport, as well as many requests from community members, city officials created the two courts by painting new lines on the tennis court and providing temporary nets.
"The Recreation and Parks Department is excited to offer this new recreation opportunity to community members of all ages," officials said.

According to the National Recreation and Park Association's Top Trends in Recreation in 2022, pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the country, with over 4 million players grabbing paddles nationwide.
The new courts will be open for first-come first-serve tennis and pickleball play from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset daily. Staff recommends that players limit their playtime on the court to one hour while others are waiting.

After playing, pickleball players should return the rolling, temporary nets to a storage position off the court to make way for new groups.
City officials said that after the creation of these new courts, additional pickleball programs my be explored in the future in Rancho Palos Verdes.
