WILMINGTON, CA — A person was fatally shot in Wilmington, and a suspect was arrested, police said Thursday.

The shooting was reported about 11:05 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Wilmington Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The wounded person, described only as a male, died at the scene, police said. The person's name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

Police arrested a man in his 20s and recovered a weapon believed used in the crime. The suspect's name was not immediately released.

According to the preliminary investigation, an argument led to a fight, which culminated in the shooting, police said.
