Woman Who Died After Being Hit By Car Crossing Long Beach Street Identified
The 60-year-old's death has been ruled an accident, officials say.
LONG BEACH, CA — A woman who died after being hit by a car crossing a Long Beach street has been identified, officials say.
Officers responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the area of East Anaheim Street and Rose Avenue Thursday at about 6:18 a.m., the Long Beach Police Department said.
When officers arrived, they found a woman in the roadway, according to police.

Officers tried to help the woman until Long Beach Fire Department rescuers took over caring for her, police said. Rescuers took the woman to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified her Tuesday as 60-year-old Seila Tes, who died from blunt force trauma. Her death was ruled an accident.

Initial investigation shows that a 2022 Honda Accord was driving on East Anaheim Street when it hit the woman, who was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk, police said.
“Speed, impaired, and distracted driving do not appear to be contributing factors (in) this collision,” police said, adding that the driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
